Liu Qi (Chinese: 刘淇; Pinyin: Liú Qí; b. November 1942) is the CPC Beijing Committee Secretary, first-in-charge of Beijing, and also a member of the CPC Politburo. He is the current President of the BOCOG

Graduated from Beijing 101 Middle School and the Metallurgical Department of Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel Engineering, and majored in iron smelting. With a postgraduate education, Liu holds the professional title of Senior Engineer. Mayor of Beijing, 1999-2003. He was succeeded by Meng Xuenong, who was replaced by Wang Qishan after the SARS outbreak. Head of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee (BOBICO). Named as one 100 most influential people of 2007 by Time magazine. Head of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Summer Games.
